Maestro Andrew Lane

To audience delight, Maestro Andrew Lane dynamically leads the Sarasota Orchestra's Pixel Pops and the Holiday Family Concert programs.

Mr. Lane has conducted Symphonic Pops concerts with Broadway superstar Davis Gaines and several Great Escapes concerts of light classics and popular favorites. As resident conductor and principal pops conductor of the Orlando Philharmonic, he conducts dozens of concerts each season in the Orlando area.

He has worked with such diverse artists as Arturo Sandoval, Deborah Gibson, Peter Schickele, Branford Marsalis, Roy Scheider, Greek tenor Mario Frangoulis, and Joey Fatone from *NSYNC.  The Orlando Sentinel has stated, "Andrew Lane's concert program was perfect for the evening" and "The concert was as pleasing as it was Patriotic." He and the Orlando Phil have recorded Aaron Copland's Lincoln Portrait narrated by Bernard Shaw.  He also launched the Orlando Philharmonic's Young People's Concerts for over 250,000 school children, and conducts a Family Concert Series, where his unique programming has created a concert experience that awakens curiosity and awareness of orchestral music.

As a French horn instrumentalist, Andrew Lane began his musical career with the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. After leaving the Navy in 1986, he became an active freelance horn player in the Washington area, performing with the American Chamber Orchestra, Washington Chamber Orchestra, Kennedy Center Orchestra and National Gallery Orchestra. In 1990 he became a member of the French horn section of the Florida Orchestra and, in 1991, won a position with the Florida Symphony Orchestra in Orlando. Mr. Lane has served as principal conductor of Southern Ballet Theatre and has guest conducted with the Rochester Philharmonic, Naples Philharmonic and The Florida Orchestra.
