Warner Bros. Studios and the Sarasota Orchestra presents

Bugs Bunny on Broadway

Conducted and created by George Daughterty

Saturday, February 7, 7:30 p.m., Van Wezel

See the cartoons on the big screen... Hear the original scores performed by the Sarasota Orchestra!

The genius of the golden-age Warner Bros. Studios animators and creators looms large in this stunning concert experience.  Bugs Bunny On Broadway celebrates the world's favorite classic Looney Tunes cartoons and their extraordinary scores.

The “Wascally Wabbit” stars in your favorite Warner Bros. classic cartoons projected on the big screen, including What’s Opera, Doc? and The Rabbit of Seville with their “hare-raising” original scores performed by the Sarasota Orchestra.

This roller coaster ride of a concert has sold-out the world's greatest concert halls and opera houses . . . from The Hollywood Bowl to The Sydney Opera House . . . and created an enthusiastically-devoted international audience of Bugs Bunny fans AND classical music lovers.

The musical masterpieces of Wagner, Rossini, Strauss, von Suppe, Smetana, Tchaikovsky, and others are brilliantly interpreted through the "hare-raising" cartoon scores of Carl Stalling and Milt Franklyn! Bugs Bunny On Broadway is a uniquely spirited, fun, and sophisticated combination of classic animation and spectacular symphonic music.

Don’t miss the music and merrymaking with Bugs, Daffy, Porky and the rest of the Looney Tunes gang!

“They applauded, they stomped, they cheered, they hooted, they hollered, they whistled. That was the reaction of the sold-out, opening-night audience at the 2,000-seat Gershwin Theatre on Wednesday night for the debut of Bugs Bunny On Broadway, a genuinely joyous concert of vintage Warner Bros. cartoons accompanied by live orchestra.”

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

“Let’s face it, Bugs Bunny is classical music’s most versatile virtuoso, and has made more adventurous cinematic use of the classical canon than Brief Encounter, Amadeus, Shine and Hilary and Jackie put together.”

THE TIMES (LONDON)

“You certainly get a sonic rush from hearing Carl Stalling’s scores performed live at Tasmanian Devil tempos. The roaring kettledrums, the sweetly confiding strings, the braying brass and luxuriant woodwinds are every bit as vibrant as the colours and choreography of the projected classic Looney Tunes.”

THE TIMES (LONDON)

"Hilarious!"

THE NEW YORK TIMES

Spectacular!"

THE NEW YORK POST

"The giddiest entertainment happening between West 44th and 52nd Streets. Four carrots, highest rating!”
