Musical Matters
Instructor: Robbert de Vries
Cost: $135/10-week session or $175/13-week session
Learning what to listen for in music is the primary objective of this course. During the weekly sessions a wide variety of musical and music-related topics (such as: terminology, instrumentation, structure, interpretation, etc.) are explained, explored  and discussed. With input from the class a choice is made among major compositions of the concert repertoire to be played through recordings, live performance and a visit to an orchestra rehearsal of the Sarasota Orchestra. The group sessions are informal and highly interactive, making them the ideal opportunity to pose any questions you may have about music and musical practice. Prior musical knowldge is not a requirement for this course. Interest in music is.
