Experience an enchanted evening as the Orchestra performs a program of magically-themed pieces spanning many genres. From the opera, you'll hear the Overture from Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Hexenritt (The Witch's Ride) from the holiday favorite Hansel and Gretel. From the cinema, symphonic suites from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring will be featured, along with tunes from Mary Poppins and E.T., the Extra-Terrestrial. The program also includes highlights from the Broadway smash Wicked. Between musical numbers, conductor Dirk Meyer will amuse and delight audiences with anecdotes and commentary about these spellbinding works. Wednesday and Friday evening performances are a one-hour abbreviated program. Thursday and Saturday evening performances are a full program with intermission.
